Boost
Effects reference
Boosts can raise level, change tonal emphasis or push a following drive harder. Put a boost before a drive for more saturation; try it after the drive when you primarily want more volume.
| Effect | Controls | Starting point |
|---|---|---|
| Gain | Gain | Use a small increase for a solo lift, then check headroom in the following stage. |
| Linear Power Booster | Boost | Start low and increase until the next drive responds more strongly. |
| Vintage Bass Booster I | Volume, Mix | Try a low Mix for added low-frequency weight, then match Volume to bypass. |
| Vintage Bass Booster II | Boost, Mix | Add a little Mix and raise Boost gradually for a fuller sound. |
| High Freq Booster I | Level | Start low for extra brightness ahead of a dark drive sound. |
| High Freq Booster II | Intensity, Volume | Keep Intensity low initially, then balance Volume after choosing the emphasis. |
| Rangefinder | Boost, Mix | Try a moderate Boost and restrained Mix into an overdriven amp stage. |
