Quick Start

Before you begin
For this walkthrough, use Artemis, its supplied 12 V DC, 2 A, centre-positive power adapter, an instrument, an amplifier and two 6.35 mm (1/4-inch) TS audio cables. To add a pedal, you will also need the pedal's power supply and two patch cables.
Turn down the amplifier before making or changing connections. Connect Artemis using its DC adapter; USB does not replace its power supply.
First-time setup
- Connect the instrument to IN1 and OUT L to the amplifier's instrument input. The rear-panel photograph labels IN1 as IN A.
- Connect the supplied power adapter and switch on Artemis.
- Follow Launchpad Basics to connect to Wi-Fi and check for updates, then open Houston.

Get your first sound
- Create a preset using Add Preset → Create New Preset from an empty song slot, then choose Full. See the empty Preset Editor for the layout.
- Set Path A's input circle to 1 and BUS B to Off.
- Leave the physical loops and virtual blocks unused or bypassed, including L6/L7. Set the left output selector to MIX.
- Open the mixer. Make sure Bus A is not muted and its level is not turned down to silence.
- Play the instrument and gradually raise the amplifier volume. You should hear the instrument through Artemis without added effects.
- Name the preset, leave the editor, and accept the save prompt.
If there is no sound, follow the troubleshooting checks before adding effects.
Add one pedal
- Turn down the amplifier. Connect L1 SND to the pedal's input and the pedal's output to L1 RTN, then power the pedal.
- In My Pedalboard, create an entry for that pedal and assign it to L1.
- Return to the preset and drag the pedal from the library into the first position on Bus A.
- Set the pedal itself to an active effect setting, then raise the amplifier volume and play.
- Double-tap the pedal card to compare the loop enabled and bypassed. With the loop enabled, the signal passes through the pedal; with it bypassed, the signal skips the loop.
- Save the preset when leaving the editor, then recall it to check the setting.

Shut down
Save your work, turn down the amplifier, and open the Home pop-up with a brief press of the tl logo button. Tap Shut down. The Home screen also identifies holding the power button for 3 seconds as a shutdown shortcut. Allow shutdown to complete before disconnecting power.
